The VIRRD Trust took up the project of building its own 100 bed hospital to provide full- fledged orthopaedic services and other diversified treatments, all under one roof, consisting of three state of the art operation theatres furnished with high quality equipment and laminar air flow air-conditioning, as per WHO standards for joint replacements. There is a fully air-conditioned 4th operation theatre, outside the operation theatre complex for surgeries to be performed on infected patients and poly trauma cases.
The new hospital was inaugurated on 10.09.2015 by former Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri N.Chandrababu Naidu Garu and is functioning well. The Dialysis centre with six beds is now operational and is functioning in association with Apollo Dialysis clinics. There is place to add two additional beds when required.
The 1st floor extension of the hospital (22000 Sq.Ft.) was taken up in October 2019, has now been completed and is ready for occupation. The project has been delayed due to COVID- 19 lockdown. It consists of three fully equipped modular Theatres, One general ward, a special ward of 17 rooms, one dialysis ward, library and conference room The total capital expenditure incurred so far on the total project inclusive of quarters is to the tune of Rs.26 Crore.
The said new 100 bed hospital is on a site of 5.00 acres given on initial lease of 11 years by Sri Venkateswara Swamy Vari Devasthnam, Dwarka Tirumala. A representation has been made by our letter dated 28.02.2021 for extension of this lease for a period 33 years.
The Trust has decided to add other specialties like, General Surgery, General Medicine, Pulmonology, Paediatrics, Dermatology, Urology, Nephrology and Dialysis apart from the main super speciality of Orthopaedics, with well equipped and advanced infrastructure for surgeries and Patient care
